Every Journey Begins...

With the first step. We are probably all familiar with that old saying. And when we look back at the beginning of our personal journey toward Christ, we often are able to identify our own first step.

Perhaps it was an inspirational minister or evangelist, a teacher you admired, a church camp experience, perhaps participating in a TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) or a similar activity as a young person.

Or maybe, just maybe, that first step for you, as it has been for many adults, was a Cursillo Weekend.

We have heard the testimonies from many members of our Cursillo family of how their Cursillo weekend renewed, resurrected or ignited their faith in new or extraordinary ways. This is the power of the Holy Spirit work through each and every one of us to bring others to a life in faith, a life in Christ.

But for this “first step” this miracle of the Holy Spirit, to be experienced we MUST bring others to Cursillo. This month we will celebrate the resurrection of the Risen Christ. YOU can make the difference in making the love and understanding of Christ rising within the heart and mind of another person by being that quiet, friendly, invitational voice that encourages someone to seek the Holy Spirit for just a few days in safe, joyful, and well-fed weekend called Cursillo.

Take a “Big Picture” approach. Don’t seek participants for “the next Cursillo”, seek people to be “a part of the Cursillo Community”.  Make a friend, be a friend and then bring that friend to Cursillo, invite them to walk with you in a community that is a part of your great journey toward Christ.

Take that first step with them by sharing with them your Cursillo experience.

Happy Easter, Christ has Risen, Alleluia!

Dcn. Al
